Working with Clover-Leaf Nurseries, ten new trees were planted in Washington Park on Tuesday, July 2. Varieties planted include Red Maple, Larch, Spruce, River Birch (clump form), Red Oak, and a Chinese Lilac- new to the park!
Next time you’re in Washington Park, walk around and see how many of the new trees you can find! And during your walk, notice the major trimming and cleanout of the shrubs along Madison Ave from Willett Street to New Scotland Avenue. DGS Forestry worked hard over the last few weeks to take out lots of weed trees.
Thanks to WPC board member Tom Pfeiffer for this fun mini-video!
